TMB has the primary responsibility of standardizing and harmonizing NDT training for Level 1, 2 and 3 in various methods. NCB takes the lead in certification of NDT professionals in India through a rigorous examination process across the country. The main objectives of PFMB are to conceptualize, formulate and organise various non-certification programs such as Webinars, Workshops, Conferences, Seminars etc. and create a platform for constant interaction with industry, academia and research community.

Quality through Non-Destructive Evaluation Science and Technology (QUNEST) is another body of ISNT formed to: Identify NDE issues and thrust areas; Foster NDE Science and Technology nationally with international inputs; Continuing Education and enhance international standing and make ISNT a global player.

ISNT is the sole and the largest professional body in India for NDE professionals and keeps the members informed about technological advances, new products, certification and training and international linkages. It also helps to promote the use of approved international and national standards in NDE and related areas by Indian industry in consultation with the Bureau of Indian Standards. ISNT co-ordinates and collaborates with universities, academic institutions and government bodies for initiating new projects on the development of various NDE techniques.

ISNT publishes a rich content packed quarterly journal - “Journal of NDE” with wide circulation and also books on various NDT related topics to enrich the members with the latest information on technology, products, patents and related topics.

ISNT organizes its flagship event the “Annual Conference and Exhibition on NDE” every year during December first week at different cities of India with a massive participation of speakers, delegates and exhibitors from all segments of the profession.
